On Saturday, March 15th, my best friend Kamila’s mom, Marzena, woke up to a fire engulfing her beautiful home. She tried looking for her sweet dog, Asji, before running out to safety, but she couldn’t find her. Asji did not make it out alive. Marzena suffered 2nd-degree burns all over her face and body and is recovering in the hospital. She lived alone with her beloved dog, Asji, in her beautiful home that she bought 25+ years ago when she moved here from Poland. That house was her pride and joy; it was her life’s savings. Although we are so grateful that she has her life, she has lost everything that she worked so hard for. She lost her husband a couple of years ago and was just getting back on her feet. As she’s starting her road to recovery, we are asking for your prayers and support in order to help her cover medical bills and find a new place to live.
