Mary De Frasia has been a dear friend for 30+ years and has been an incredibly exuberant, kind, and loving presence in my life. She has consistently brought an infectious energy into almost every interaction she has had with others and could always be relied on to provide support, physical help, or just a solid laugh when needed. I am sure that many of you would mirror my sentiments when thinking about your relationship with Mary. I am asking for your help in showing your support for her and her family in this very difficult time.
In August 2024, just three days after dropping her daughter Annabella off at Ohio State to begin her freshman year, Mary received the devastating news that she had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The diagnosis came as a complete shock, especially as the cancer had already spread to her liver. Over the past 16 months, Mary has faced countless challenges, with many ups and downs in her treatment and overall health. She has been through chemotherapy, clinical trials, and experienced multiple medical complications that have resulted in extended hospital stays. Through it all, she has shown incredible kindness, strength, and resilience, supported by her family and friends every step of the way.
Now, as Mary transitions to hospice care, her primary concern is the financial burden she may leave behind. The cumulative medical bills since her diagnosis, along with ongoing daily living expenses on a limited budget, have created significant stress for Mary and her family. She wants nothing more than to ensure her family is not overwhelmed by these costs during such a difficult time.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Any support you can offer will go directly toward covering Mary's medical bills and daily expenses, providing comfort and peace of mind for her and her family. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for your support during this challenging journey.
