HELP MARYNA & NATASHA'S UKRAINIAN FAMILY

My name is Pallavi Shah, and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my Ukrainian work colleague, Maryna Naksen, to support her family in Ukraine. I have known Maryna for 8+ years. She is a resident of New Jersey and is originally from Ukraine. Her family used to live in Kharkiv, Ukraine, which has been the focal point of the war from day one, and most of the town is in rubbles. Her father, two sisters and their family (husband and kids) had to flee Kharkiv as there was bombing all around them, and there was a constant danger to their lives. Maryna’s mother Natasha is already in the USA.

 

 

As you all know, only women, children and men over the age of 60 are allowed to leave the country. However, Maryna’s dad refuses to leave his country where he has spent his entire life. He is still in Ukraine along with Maryna’s two sister’s husbands as men between the age of 18 & 60 are not allowed to leave Ukraine. Maryna’s one sister is in the army & is required to stay back and fight the war. She has a 2-year-old daughter named Kristina Hostieva. Maryna’s second sister Iryna Latysheva (age 34) has a 1-year-old boy named Andril. Maryna flew to Hungary and went to Ukraine & Slovakia border to receive her sister Iryna, her son Andril & her other sister’s daughter Kristina.

 

Maryna took them to Germany and found temporary housing there for now and settled them there. Maryna’s mom Natasha has now gone to Germany to relieve Maryna so she can fly back to US to resume her work. Natasha, a US citizen, has applied with US immigration for their visa to bring her daughter and grandkids to the US. However, US embassy in Germany is giving them a September appointment. They are now consulting immigration lawyers and congressmen to help expedite this process.

 

Sadly, we can't help all the Ukrainians, but we can help this family. They left Ukraine with nothing but a suitcase and small children. They need financial help to fund immediate necessities like temporary housing in Germany, clothing, food, airline tickets, visa fees and lawyer fees. Maryna is currently funding all expenses by borrowing on her credit card.
