This is Caleb. Caleb is my cousin's 30-year-old baby boy. He has Trisomy 13 and is developmentally delayed. He is the delight of all who meet him. He is non-verbal, but he has trained his family to meet every need. lol.

He is in the hospital for the third time since December with infections. He has pneumonia and is in the hospital this time for at least the next week. My cousin is the worker in the family. Dad is a stay-at-home dad taking care of Caleb's every need. They found 4 infections in his trach area that all need antibiotics to work their magic, but he's not bouncing back like usual. This is taking a toll on him and he needs both of his parents with him as he struggles in the hospital. Mary and Wayne are both with him, at all times. She says, "We both are with him at all times unless I have to go home to wash clothes or if I run out of FMLA hours I have to work which the hours are getting slim. But if it comes to him or my job it’s always has and will be him".

Mary has used all the time she can take off with paid leave and is now off work without pay. Staying at the hospital is so expensive and neither are able to leave Caleb. Let's rally around Mary and Wayne for Caleb. They need the money right now. Mary will never ask for help; she's always the one who helps. Now they need help. We can help. Sometimes, it takes a community.
