Help Mary Repair Her Car After Hurricanes

My name is Mary and I live in St. Petersburg, Florida. I desperately need help getting my car repaired. About a year and a half ago, I was lucky enough to raise enough money on a GoFundMe account to get myself a used car to get back on the road and continue working as a delivery driver. I was so grateful to everyone who donated, and so grateful I found the car that I loved.

Sadly, Hurricanes Helene and Milton blasted through only two weeks apart just over a month ago. As you can see by the photo, my car did not quite survive the havoc caused as a result of the hurricanes. I had only just gotten a job a few months ago working at Tropicana Field, but now that the stadium has been destroyed by hurricane Milton, I will be back to delivery driving full-time.

I am desperate to get back to work, but my insurance was only liability coverage since the car is 11 years old. The repairs will cost about $5,000 between parts and labor. It is worth it because so many vehicles for sale in my area right now have water damage from the hurricanes.

My car (her name is Mel, short for Melanite, which is a beautiful black garnet!) is a dream and I don’t want to give her up. I have had two estimates done, both of which said she is worth being repaired.
