Hi, my name is Mary. I grew up in Berkeley and I am a student at UC Santa Cruz. I am a first-generation college student, and my mom works as a yard duty worker at an elementary school, making minimum wage. My dad is disabled and unable to work. Even with these financial disadvantages, UCSC was not able to give me the aid that I need to afford college. My dream is to become a psychologist and help those with mental illnesses connected to generational trauma. As a Latinx woman, I would love to help people within Hispanic immigrant communities like my own. By donating to me you will not only be helping me achieve my dream, but you will also be investing in the improvement of mental health within underserved communities.
