Mary Jo and her husband, Robert, are devoted managers of the Willow Mobile Home Park in Ruidoso, NM, and have spent years supporting their community and helping residents feel at home. On July 8, 2025, Mary Jo's (74) life changed dramatically when intense monsoon rains swept through the village where she lives. In a matter of hours, Mary Jo, her husband Robert, and her son Dylan, who also lived in the park, lost the sense of security they had built over the years. With the recent loss of their homes, three vehicles, including two of Roberts' work trucks, were affected. One was for park use, so Robert isn't able to do much around the park. The other truck was for his job, and the third was the family car. Despite their loss, Mary Jo and Robert have continued to help other residents, putting their needs before their own even as they face uncertainty about their future.

For now, Mary Jo and her family are staying in a motel, unsure of what comes next since the Red Cross will not continue to pay for the motel after August 15th, 2025. They are without transportation and have lost most of their belongings, including essential items like clothing and medicine. Mary Jo and Robert both have ongoing medical and heart issues, making access to their medications and care even more urgent. With no stable place to live and limited resources, the family is in immediate need of support for temporary housing, transportation, medical needs, and necessities.
