Help Mary Jo Price Fight Breast Cancer!

If you know and love Canisteo, you know and love the Price Family! Now Mary Jo Price needs your help! In January, Mary Jo was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Grade 2.4 breast cancer. Meanwhile, she put her diagnosis aside and was taking care of her husband, John who had non-covid-19 pneumonia.

Sadly, John passed away in March and almost immediately, in April, Mary Jo had to undergo a mastectomy. She suffered setbacks with a large hematoma that had to be removed in emergency surgery. In June, a shunt was placed. In July she started chemotherapy consisting of six-hour treatments and continues those treatments for another month. The chemo has created numbness in her extremities making everyday life harder. The goal is to have reconstructive surgery the following month.

During the recent flooding, she lost all her lawn equipment and shed and has a mud bog for a yard. It is difficult for her to get out with her dogs.

She has been out of work twice using up her sick time. Once for two months as John's health declined and since April 28.

Though Mary Jo has had the support of her family, she does not have John to lean on. She has continued to go through all of this without asking for any help.

Let's do this for Mary Jo Price and help her to rebuild her life and her health! I know how the Kanogy (Canisteo) Community rallies for one of our own and I am proud to call it my hometown!
