Help Mary Jane Stay Housed After a Severe Car Accident
Hi, my name is Sarah Montoya, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my niece, Mary Jane, who is only 19 years old and facing a long road to recovery after a devastating car accident.
Mary Jane was seriously injured when another driver cut her off, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle. She suffered severe road rash across much of her body and required staples, skin grafts, and extensive hospital care. She is still recovering and will need ongoing physical therapy before she can return to work.
Mary Jane is the oldest sibling in her family and has always been a loving, protective role model to her brothers and sisters. Just last year, she took a huge step forward by getting her first apartment, where she currently lives with a friend. Unfortunately, due to her injuries, she is unable to work right now and has no income.
Her biggest immediate concern is rent. The total rent is shared with her roommate, and Mary Jane’s portion is approximately $900 per month. We are hoping to raise $3,600 to cover at least three months of rent, so she can heal without the added fear of losing her home. The last thing she needs while recovering is the stress of possible eviction.
Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward helping Mary Jane stay safely housed while she focuses on healing and rebuilding her strength. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much to our family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read Mary Jane’s story and for any support you’re able to give. Your kindness truly makes a difference.
With gratitude,
MaryJane and Family
