Hi, I am Mary Hudson. I am retired on a fixed income and have been on Medicare Advantage insurance. I was diagnosed with maxillary sinus cancer, a rare condition. I completed radiation in December 2022 and we thought we had it beat. 4 months later it reoccurred in a more aggressive form. The recommended next steps are proton radiation combined with chemotherapy. While treatment will be in- network, my copay and living expenses will be a hardship since I will have to move to Dallas for 2 months while under treatment, and still pay all my bills at home.
