My name is Justina and this lovely feline is Mary. She is one of the sweetest, gentlest cats I’ve ever met.

I agreed to temporarily foster Mary for a former co-worker to give them more time to find her a new home. While I only planned to care for her short-term, I’ve grown deeply committed to helping her heal and eventually find a loving, permanent place to call home.

During a recent visit to the vet, Mary was diagnosed with stage 4 gum disease. This advanced condition is not only painful, but is likely contributing to her vomiting and steady weight loss. Gum infections can release toxins and bacteria into the body, often upsetting a cat’s stomach—especially when eating is painful or difficult.

I’ve switched her to wet food to make eating easier, but she’s still constantly hungry and can’t keep food down consistently. The vet strongly recommends dental surgery to remove the damaged teeth and stop the infection. This procedure is essential for her to recover, regain weight, and live comfortably.

The vet gave an initial estimate for the dental surgery, but the final cost may be higher depending on how the procedure goes.

I’ve already taken care of her food, vet visits, litter, and supplies, but I’m unable to manage the cost of this surgery alone. If you’re able to help, every contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward Mary’s care and healing.
