HELP MARY GRACE RECEIVE LIFE-SAVING SPINE SURGERIES
Donation protected
We are reaching out for financial support to aid in recovery, healing, and rehabilitation following two successful major surgeries. While this is an important milestone, the journey is far from over. Continued support and prayers are needed as we move forward in the healing process.
Your generous donations will go directly toward rehabilitation therapy, pain management medication, and ongoing medical consultations until full recovery is achieved. This will also help us prepare for the next step—returning to Canada to continue treatment and recovery.
Hello, my name is Mary Grace Rico. I’m raising funds for two critical spine surgeries scheduled for August 30, 2025, in the Philippines. Unexpected medical tests and consultations have already depleted much of our savings, and we’re now facing a financial gap we cannot bridge alone. Your donation—big or small—will go directly toward my surgery, hospital admission, pre-op testing, and recovery care. If you're unable to give, please consider sharing my story. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.
Hi, my name is Jeanette Jameson and I am raising funds for my friend Mary Grace Rico. I first met Mary Grace and Mike in 2011 when they first started attending our church. They now have twins who are 9 years old. They are a devoted, faithful family that love to serve the Lord.
Mary Grace was a cheerful, hard worker, former teacher, passionate nurse, and a dedicated mother and wife but now had to hang it all up due to her medical condition. For the past 6 years she has been devastated while battling with a SPINAL DISEASE. Since 2018 she has had severe headaches, constant excruciating neck pain, as well as both shoulders, her upper and lower back. She has numbness on her left side of the body plus frequent infections that has forced regular visits to the doctors and Emergency Departments here in Regina Sk Canada.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with a rare spinal cord disease called Tethered Spinal Cord with SYRINX, a FLUID CYST in her CERVICAL SPINE by a Neurosurgeon in the US. In 2022, while seeking another medical opinion in the Philippines, she was diagnosed with C4 SYRINX and Cervical and Lumbar Stenosis with Myelopathy.
Her symptoms have progressed to the point where she can no longer bear the unrelenting pain on her neck, shoulders, lower and upper back, arms and legs. The gradual weakness of her left arm and leg eventually affects the right extremities. Worst is she’s began to lose the feeling on her feet and is affecting her bladder and bowel function.
No medications or doctors have been able to alleviate the symptoms that makes her feel like her life is useless. If it wasn’t for her husband Mike and their children who pushed her to keep fighting and give her the strength to carry on, she would have lost HOPE.
For the past 6 years she and her husband have not stopped searching for treatment. They have consulted Neurosurgeons here in Canada, US, UK and in the Philippines. They have exhausted all medical and alternative medicine venues. After extensive consultations with medical professionals, they are left with no recourse with which to help her condition. There is no surgeon in Canada or in US willing to do the surgery. She is now seeking help outside of Canada and has found a confident Neurosurgeon at St Luke Medical Center in the Philippines and advised her to have 2 surgeries that will cost nearly 4 Million pesos (CA$100,000). She cannot proceed with the surgery until the money is in place.
BY DELAYING THE SURGERIES, or if untreated, her debilitating disease could lead to significant and permanent nerve damage including PARALYSIS and DEATH. This critical treatment is not just for her but for the future of her children who are just 9 years old who need a mother while growing up. She is always PRAYING that one day she will be healed and her quality of life will be back again. She is deteriorating and can hardly move most of her body causing her to be bedridden most days. At this point of her life, she knows the surgeries are her last hope to regaining her health.
Please consider alleviating some of her financial burden by donating or by sharing this campaign. Spread the word about Mary Grace’s story on social media, with friends, and within your community. Your donation would be greatly appreciated, this can help cover the medical expenses for this critical treatment, long-term aggressive rehabilitation towards recovery and support her family during this challenging time. No contribution is too small when it comes to saving a mother’s life that has been suffering for 6 years now.
Please keep Mary Grace and her family in your prayers! “GOD IS FAITHFUL!”
Thank you.
