My name is Mary. I'm a 46-year-old mom to the most gorgeous honor roll student and wife to an amazing machinist. I'm not only a human rights activist but have had the honor to be a runway and print model and also a chef.
Two years ago, I broke my back and had the necessary back surgery, the surgery that everyone said I could not live without, and it ruined my life. I now have been diagnosed with a degenerative rare nerve disease called CRPS/RSD type 2. It has not only cost me my leg but my ability to live a normal, pain-free life. I now live my life in constant pain and am not able to do anything I was before, like my careers or taking care of my amazing family. If you want to know more about it, please check out Trial by Fire on YouTube.
About a month ago, we were told that the treatments that could save my life and put me in remission, without invasive surgeries, will not be covered by my insurance, and we just can't afford the cost of these infusions. They are $550 an infusion, and I will need a week's worth of them to the tune of $2,700. I am desperate, my family is desperate. I just want to be able to live a normal life and to maybe see my daughter graduate not in a wheelchair. I'm not just asking but begging for your help. I want my life back. I , if I am being brutally honest, don't know how much longer I can live this way. This disease has robbed me of everything including my joy. I want my daughter to live a normal teenage life and not have to spend it sitting at my bedside wishing she could fix me. I'm tired. I really really need these treatments. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you donated thank you from the bottom of my heart, it means the world to myself and my family.
