My nan’s mobility scooter, which is ultimately her lifeline, broke beyond repair around eight months ago. I have done as much research as possible, and I cannot find any grants or benefits that can provide my nan with a road-worthy mobility scooter as she is not on PIP and PIP cannot be given to those over state pension age.

Additionally, I am unable to pay for one due to their high price. We have even looked into pay monthly ones, however, no companies will accept me or my nan.

My nan has only left the house around three times in the last eight months and this has had a significant impact on her mental health. Quite frankly, she is a different person and a shell of her former self - I am worried that her mental health will continue to decline if she isn’t able to get out and about as she used to do.

I am setting up this GoFundMe, at a suggestion of many friends and family, to hopefully raise enough money to buy my nan her own mobility scooter.
