Help Mary Focus on Recovery and Strength Ahead
Donation protected
My mom, Mary, was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. It was a shock, as I'm sure it is to everyone who hears those terrible words. It was early. A simple surgery, probably no treatment. That's what they thought. She went in for a lumpectomy and ended up having a full mastectomy. They recommended chemotherapy and radiation. Further testing avoided chemo. Radiation was in the spring. Reconstruction late summer. There were complications and now she needs another surgery—her third this year. My mom hates needles, but she's gotten over that! She's handled every twist and turn with strength. She's a fighter.
She has her own small business, but has been unable to work much. Now with another surgery, no work. They have insurance, but the monthly bills are tough. I'm just looking to help her out a little, until she can get back to working. When she's felt better, she's made mastectomy pillows for women at the cancer resource center. She hopes to volunteer at a place that makes meals for patients in treatment. She believes in paying it forward.
I just want her to focus on fighting this, recovering from another surgery, and getting better. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much. Please, please—get your screenings.
