Help Mary Fight Stage 4 Cancer- Every Cent Helps!

So, I have put this post off because it is very hard to have to post, but I wanted to share some very sad news with everyone that knows my mom, Mary Birge. Mom has been sick since January of this year and we have been trying to figure out exactly what has been wrong with her. We finally got with the best of the best, Ms. Johnnie at Dr. Reece’s office, and she ordered some tests on mom which came back with not the results we wanted to hear.

In May, we found that she has Stage 4 spinal cord and brain cancer, this is her 4th round of having cancer since she was in her 20’s, except this time it is the worst one yet. She has had 2 rounds of chemotherapy and went downhill from there. She has gotten to where she doesn’t want to eat or drink for us, she has lost the mobility to walk, dad and I were trying to get her ready last Tuesday for the next round of chemotherapy and ended up having to call an ambulance to come get her to bring her up to Baptist where her Oncologist doctor is at, she had 2 seizures on me before the EMT’S could get there due to her blood pressure dropping out.

The doctor admitted her to the hospital where we are still currently at. She had an infection in her blood that had to be treated before they could resume any more chemotherapy, the doctors have done a TEE on her heart and an MRI of her brain the last 2 days and she still hasn’t awoke from those yet! They gave her too much medication for the procedure. I’m not a happy camper about that right now!!! So, if you will please keep my sweet mama and my precious dad in your prayers because I know it is hard on him to watch mom like this, I know it is for myself and my brother, Dennis Birge.

The staff up here at Baptist have put an extra hospital bed in mom’s room for me, so when I get off work every day I come up here and most nights I stay the night with her then get up early the next morning, go home, clean up and head back to work. I’m sorry this is such a long post, but I have been putting off posting it because 1) we have been very busy and 2) it’s just hard to have to post about things like this.
