Three years ago, my mom, Mary Ellen, was diagnosed with kidney disease. It has since progressed into kidney failure, and she is currently in need of a kidney transplant. Until she is able to find a match, she receives dialysis at home, 10 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I can’t explain how difficult it is to watch someone you love so much grow weak in such a short time. My mom has always been one to give wherever she can and to always help those in need. To watch her slowly be unable to volunteer her time or to be unable to do the things she loved so much is one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced.

It has become difficult for her to financially keep up with the cost of new medications and the bills that dialysis brings. Any little bit would help and would be greatly appreciated.
