HELP MARY-ELIZABETH HEAL

Donation protected
On February 27th, Mary-Elizabeth was admitted into ICU at Alta Bates Medical Center of Berkeley. On a breathing machine and barely hanging on, it was found that her liver and kidneys had shut down. Doctors believed she wasn’t going to survive.
After 6 days, she was moved out of ICU. Currently, she’s responsive and fighting.
Now the difficult road to healing.
Mary is in need of a kidney and liver transplant. We are all hopeful, but the prognosis is grim. Doctors are waiting to see if she regains kidney and liver function on her own. They’ve discussed all possibilities and options. Some good ones and some not so good ones.
Because right now is a waiting game, Lindsey, Mary’s primary caregiver, needs to get her life moved from Colorado to California so she can continue staying by Mary’s side and get her through these next many months.
This is why we have started crowd funding.
Bravery comes in many forms. Mary has given permission to share what happened. I hope her bravery helps someone else.
Mary’s body shut down due to alcohol relapse and malnutrition. She had been sober 4 months prior. There is a chance she won’t qualify for transplants due to drinking, but that doesn’t mean we should lose hope.
She needs intensive 24 hour care and a good drug/alcohol rehab program. She can’t do those things without our help and support.

Our friend needs us! Now is the time to show up! They would do it for us. ❤️
