Help Mary Beth Rebuild After Devastating Flood
Donation protected
You may or may not have heard about the severe flooding that hit Roswell, New Mexico, on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Severe storms developed north and west of Roswell and then hit the town with an estimated 6 inches of rain. Multiple local rivers flooded, including the Spring River, which runs through the historic Cahoon Park in the center of Roswell.
The home of our dear friend, Mary Beth Hanagan, sits near the Spring River and was flooded with five feet of water. After a harrowing night in darkness and multiple episodes of being submerged under cold flood water, she was finally able to escape through her front door. She was exhausted. A good Samaritan in a truck helped her to the hospital where she was treated and released.
This flood was devastating. Mary Beth has lost everything. Very few items can be salvaged and her home will need major repairs. Unfortunately, she did not have flood insurance.
I've known Mary Beth since first grade- well over 60 years. I'm not alone in cherishing her friendship for decades. She is a spirited, loving, and giving person. MB has a huge network of friends across the country and from each phase of her life. We have all experienced her unfailing generosity, crazy humor, biting wit and stalwart support in both good times and bad. We've had a few drinks along the way as well....
Mary Beth is now the one who needs our support.
Please donate what you can to help her through the most challenging time of her life.
Many Thanks from Betsy & Pat Finley, Susie Solomon and Mary Beth Hanagan
