I know money is tight for so many people right now, but I’m asking for help for my friend Mary and her husband, Titus, as they go through a very difficult time.

Mary is the kind of person who would help anyone. She has a big heart and has always been there for others whenever they needed her. In fact, she has helped me personally. She also served as president of the Block Club in Riverside for quite a while and has always cared deeply about her community and the people around her.

Now Mary and Titus need help of their own.

They are currently dealing with serious health issues, and right now they are living in a second-floor apartment. Because of their medical conditions, going up and down the stairs has become very difficult. Mary is on oxygen and struggles with her legs. Titus is also dealing with major health problems, including liver disease, and he cannot work at this time. He is waiting for Disability, but as many people know, that process can take a long time.

At the moment, they are living only on Mary’s disability income.

The good news is that they have an opportunity to move into a lower-floor apartment on May 1, which would be much safer and more manageable for them. But they need help covering moving costs and part of the security deposit so they can make that move happen.

They are not asking for a lot. They simply need a little help getting into a home that better fits their health needs and gives them some peace of mind.

This fundraiser is for someone who has always been willing to help others without hesitation. Mary would give what she could and show up for people when they needed her. Now it’s our turn to show up for her and Titus.
