When bad things happen to good people, you always wish you could help. This time, with this good person, you can. Mary Burdette is a devoted wife and Army Mom of two amazing girls. Shelby, 22, who is in active service, and Sadie, 9, dragon enthusiast. Since 2023 Mary has had four surgeries, two with prolonged recovery times. In 2024 her family was one of those in the path of Hurricane Helene. While blessed with their house and each other, Mary and her husband, Jason, were out of work while the crews worked to repair the worst hit areas. Through it all, Mary has been positive, relying on her quick wit and dark humor at work, she leans on her family, her friends and her faith rather than asking for help. On October 28th, Mary had a heart attack. She is home and recovering surrounded by her family, but she and her husband will again be out of work with all PTO exhausted to get Mary through her surgeries. The Burdettes can't afford this loss of work that is necessary for Mary's health and recovery. She would never ask for help, so we're doing it for her. We're asking for $5000 to cover necessary living expenses and medical bills while Mary and Jason are out of work. We know that sounds like a lot, especially these days, so here is our proposal.
