Help Mary and Billy Repair Their Essential Truck

I’m Mary Edgar, and my husband is Billy Edgar. We are raising money to repair our only vehicle, a 2016 Dodge Ram truck. The truck was used as Billy’s work truck for our HVAC business and got a lot of mileage and wear and tear over the years. Now that we are retired, Billy relies on the truck to get to and from hemodialysis three times a week, to get to his many doctor’s appointments, and to take me to mine.

The truck needs repairs because it didn’t pass the smog test, so we couldn’t register it. We put the truck in the shop for an estimate and repairs. The estimate was for $2,400 to replace the fuel pump assembly and the active grill shutter. We didn’t have the money and haven’t been able to come up with it. Once we get the truck repaired and it passes smog, we have to pay the vehicle registration plus penalties for late registration and pay extra to renew our insurance. We are in a real bind, and so here we are.
