My name is Jafar Jamaluddin and I’m from London. I’m raising funds for a dear friend of mine, Marwa, who lives in Lebanon.

As many of you may know, the ongoing tensions and conflict in the region have forced many families to leave their homes. Marwa and her family are among those affected. Their home in Jnah is located in an area that has been heavily bombed, and for their safety they have been forced to leave.

Marwa is now trying to secure a place for her family to stay in Byblos, outside of the evacuation zone. She is helping care for her family, which includes her grandmother and her two younger brothers, all of whom have been displaced together. Being suddenly forced out of your home leaves you scrambling for the most basic things — safety, shelter, and stability.

At the moment, $1,500 would cover one month of rent and basic living costs for them in a safer area. This fundraiser is to help Marwa and her family secure temporary housing while they navigate this incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

Marwa is a kind and resilient person who has always supported the people around her. Seeing her family face displacement like this is heartbreaking, and this fundraiser is simply an attempt to help them find safety and a little stability during a moment of crisis.
