My name is Bashir. I am a father of two beautiful children, living with my wife in Deir al-Balah, Gaza. Before the war, we lived a simple but dignified life. I worked, my wife studied at university to become a medical laboratory specialist, and we dreamed of a brighter future for our children.

But everything changed. The war took away our home, my job, and our stability. Now, we live in a tent that becomes unbearably hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. Every day is a struggle just to survive.

My son Kinan (7 years old) should be in school, learning and playing like every child his age. Instead, he suffers from severe malnutrition. His body is weak, and he needs healthy food, vitamins, and proper medical care that we cannot afford.

My daughter Mira (4 years old) suffers from thalassemia, a life-threatening blood disorder. She requires constant medication, clean food, and fruit to stay alive. Without her medicine, Mira’s condition quickly worsens — and as parents, we live in daily fear of losing her.

My wife, Fatima, once full of hope as a university student, saw her dreams shattered when the war destroyed her education. Her own health is fragile; her hemoglobin is dangerously low, and she needs treatment and proper nutrition.

We are desperate. We cannot provide food or medicine for our children. We cannot keep them safe or warm in the tent we now call home. We are parents watching our children suffer — something no parent should ever endure.
