Marvin, my brother, has always been the kind of person who steps up for others. On February 11th, while he was in town washing clothes, his house burned down completely. The loss was devastating—he didn’t have insurance, and as a diabetic with a prosthetic on his right arm, he already faces daily challenges. Marvin lives on a very limited monthly income, and while he managed to save some clothes, everything else is gone.

Now, Marvin is left to start over from scratch. He lives alone and hopes to use any support to replace what he lost or gather enough materials so he and his brothers can build a small building for his new home. He also needs to replace tools and appliances, and there are always small things he won’t realize he’s missing until he needs them. For now, he’ll be staying in an older camp trailer for the rest of the winter, trying to get by until he can rebuild.
