Help Marva-Lee Rebuild Home After Hurricane Melisa
Hurricane Melisa has devastated the western region of Jamaica, leaving many families in crisis including my mom Marva-Lee, and my brother Christopher, who lost their home in Petersfield, Westmoreland.
A beloved and respected health care worker in Savanna-la-Mar, Marva-Lee has spent years caring for others in her community. Now, she needs our help to rebuild her life after this unimaginable loss.
During the storm, a large mango tree fell onto the front and midsection of her house, crushing and flattening most of the structure. What was once a sturdy four-bedroom family home is now unlivable with the roof gone, walls destroyed, and all personal belongings, clothing, bedding, and appliances lost.
With the help of family, Marva-Lee hopes to rebuild a smaller, two-bedroom home that can bring her and Christopher safety and stability again.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
Construction materials (cement, blocks, roofing, lumber, windows, doors, etc.)
Labor costs for:
2 masons (foundation & walls)
2 carpenters (roof & framing)
1 electrician
1 plumber
2 general laborers
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping Marva-Lee and Christopher rebuild their home and regain a sense of normalcy.
Thank you for showing love and solidarity in this time of need. ❤️
