Our hearts are shattered from the death of our beloved father, Marty Troutwine.
Marty was a wonderful father to his 7 kids, he always wanted a lot of kids so he could see them all grow up have kids and so he could walk them down the aisle but unfortunately he faced many many challenges. He was born with diabetes. He had a heart attack in 2022 that led him to needing stents put in his heart. Shortly after having the heart attack he got the stents placed into his heart. He was doing decently okay for awhile with his heart. His diabetes started to affect him in so many ways and it got to a point he could not feel his feet so he could not work much after that. A couple months down the road he had to get stents placed in his leg to help the blood flow in his leg and foot. That surgery happened in October 2024. He moved to Davenport in early November 2024 and dropped something on his foot while moving and while he was already a full blown diabetic one of his toes got Gangrene and he went to Gensis hospital and they told him they could not do anything for him at this time. He ended up having another heart attack in December of 2024. From November 2024 - March 2025 he was in the hospital 80% of those 5 months due to his toes, walking pneumonia, and having the heart attack. In March 2025 at the University of Iowa he had 3 toes amputated and was in the hospital for 3/4 weeks. He was finally able to be released from the hospital on April 8th 2025. He was in good spirits despite everything that was going on with him. 2 weeks later he unexpectedly passed away due to a blood clot erupting in his lungs which made him stop breathing and he also had fluid built up around his heart. Marty was so young, only 46 years old and had so much more life yet to live. He loved gambling, cook outs, spending time with his kids & family. A really loving devoted father to his 7 children.
