Help Martin's Family Navigate Life After Loss

I am a friend and one of many friends and family who are feeling the loss of a wonderful man. Martin Schmieder left us on June 26, 2024, way too soon. He was a beloved son, a loved brother, an adored husband, a cherished father, and a loyal friend to many.

Martin was the primary breadwinner for his family. He had been dealing with the ravages of Cancer for some time and was unable to work. He was a courageous fighter trying to do all he could to survive for his family. He leaves behind a beautiful wife, Petra, two exceptional Children, Nicole, 11, and Michael, 9, and a devoted mom.

Martin was born in Prague, Czech Republic. As a young man with his new love, Petra, they decided to explore America. They started in California, where his uncle lived; after some time, they decided to head out to Oahu, Hawaii, to visit, and both agreed they didn't want to leave! So they stayed! They loved the surfer anthem, hard work during the week, weekend surfing, or when the waves were up! They wanted to live a simpler life, and they loved it. There, Martin started to work on his electrical contractor's license and had their first child, Nicole.

After the birth of his daughter a little time after he got a call no one wants. Martin found out he had Bladder Cancer. He was devasted by the news, but they carried on and started doing research for alternative treatments, and after a couple of years, Martin was cancer-free! During all the upheaval, his second child, Michael, was born.

After some time, they wanted to leave the chaos of Oahu and move to Kauai. There, they bought a house, and life was good. They were happy and prospering. Then Covid hit, and everything went crazy again. His Cancer came back, and work and the world were going crazy. It was a rollercoaster ride up and down. During this time, Martin felt very sad and disappointed with how our world was becoming and how people acted. Then, right when they felt like they had some possible solutions to his health, he took a turn for the worst, and just like that, Martin was gone.

The kids are just devasted, especially the oldest, Nicole. She is taking the death of her father to the depths of sorrow. Martin was an electrical contractor for his business, Fox Electric, and his wife. Although she helped with his business, she could not continue with the company as it was under his contractor license. So, we are here today asking to help this beautiful family survive in this transitional stage of life and grief. There are many medical bills, funeral expenses, and a home mortgage, let alone all the usual bills of raising a family and maintaining a home while dealing with enormous grief.
