Please help Martina recover after below knee amputation

On May 12th, in the early morning, my girlfriend, Martina Korganoff suffered a life-altering motorcycle accident coming home from work almost destroying her right leg which ultimately left her with a below knee amputation. (Shattered exposed right femur, degloving below knee, torn ligaments in left knee, destroyed right foot, fractured nose, etc.). 

She has been incredibly strong and maintained an amazing positive attitude and gratitude through the immense emotional and physical obstacles, but there are still many economic challenges. (I’ve also taken time away from work and have been by her side since everything happened for support).

Though the road to recovery is long and will consist of extensive medical treatments, an eventual prosthesis fitting and rehabilitation, Martu has remained optimistic. (Every visitor has been greeted with her beautiful smile decorated with a newly chipped front tooth).

The funds raised will go towards rehabilitation, physical therapy, prosthetic fitting/maintenance, medical supplies and equipment as well as other unforeseen outstanding costs while Martina adjusts to her new life after the accident. We are currently looking into getting an accessible form of transportation for her as her previous daily commute was on motorcycle. She remains enthusiastic to overcome her current situation.

I am reaching out to our friends, family, and anyone moved by what happened to contribute what they can. Every little bit of support helps as Martu gets closer to recovery and independence. El 12 de mayo, en la madrugada volviendo a casa del trabajo, mi novia, Martina Korganoff, sufrió un accidente de moto que le cambió la vida. Casi le destruyó la pierna derecha, resultando en una amputación por debajo de la rodilla. (También tuvo una quebradura expuesta del fémur derecho, desgarro debajo de la rodilla, ligamentos rotos en la rodilla izquierda, pie derecho destruido, fractura de nariz, etc.). 

Ella ha sido increíblemente fuerte y ha mantenido una actitud sumamente positiva y mucha gratitud a través de inmensos obstáculos emocionales y físicos, pero aún hay muchos desafíos económicos. (También me he ausentado del trabajo y he estado a su lado desde que pasó todo para apoyarla)

Aunque el camino hacia la recuperación es largo y consistirá en extensos tratamientos médicos, una nueva prótesis y una posterior rehabilitación, Martu se mantiene optimista. (Cada visitante ha sido recibido con su hermosa sonrisa decorada con su dientito partido).

Los fondos recaudados se destinarán a rehabilitación, fisioterapia, ajuste/mantenimiento de prótesis, suministros y equipos médicos, así como a otros costos pendientes imprevistos mientras Martina se adapta a su nueva vida después del accidente. Actualmente estamos buscando conseguir un medio de transporte accesible para ella, ya que su viaje diario era en moto. Ella sigue entusiasmada de superar su situación.

Me dirijo a nuestros amigos, familiares y cualquier persona afectada por lo sucedido para que contribuyan con lo que puedan.
