I’m asking for help for someone who means so much to me and my family — Martin.
Martin is more than a friend to us. He is family.
He is the kind of person who is always there when someone needs help. As a contractor and handyman, Martin has spent years helping not only me, but also my husband, my children, my grandchildren, my parents, and so many others. If something needs fixing, building, repairing, or figuring out, Martin is the person you call. He is incredibly talented, hardworking, and always willing to go above and beyond for the people he cares about.
What makes Martin so special is not just what he does, but who he is. He gives so much of himself to others and asks for very little in return. He lives simply, works hard, and is never focused on flashy things or spending money on himself. He is the kind of man who puts others first and quietly shows up again and again for the people in his life.
Recently, after a lot of convincing, Martin agreed to go on a ski trip with family and friends. It was one of the first real vacations he has taken in a very long time. Sadly, during that trip, he suffered a serious injury and tore his ACL and PCL.
Martin is now facing a long and difficult road ahead with medical appointments, surgery, recovery, and time away from work. Because his work is physical, this injury will not only affect his health, but also his ability to make a living while he heals. At this time, we also do not know the full details of what insurance coverage he may or may not have.
I wanted to start this GoFundMe to help ease even a small part of the burden he is facing. Whether we raise $500 or much more, every donation will make a meaningful difference in helping Martin with medical costs, recovery expenses, and everyday needs during this difficult time.
If you know Martin, then you already know what kind of person he is. And if you do not know him personally, please know that he is one of the most selfless, dependable, and caring people I have ever known. He has spent so much of his life helping others, and now I am hoping we can come together and help him.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, please consider sharing this page and keeping Martin in your thoughts and prayers.
With love and gratitude,
Erika
