Help Martin Pay for His Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
On the day Martin Wallace was born, December 4, 1986, his journey battling kidney failure abruptly began. He was a miracle baby, that with God’s covering survived living his first months of life on a ventilator and enduring many procedures to preserve his life. One of which, was the insertion of a nephrostomy tube used to filter out toxins and provide other functions. Following the removal of the tube, young Martin’s right kidney was ultimately completely damaged and he was left with a partially functioning left kidney. Martin with the love and support of his parents went on to spend his childhood years routinely admitted to the hospital due to his condition.
BRIGHTER DAYS WERE AHEAD…
Eventually in his late teens, Martin was blessed to have his older brother donate a kidney to him and for the first time he began to live. A life that you and I often take for granted. For the first time, his health didn’t hinder him enjoying life and he didn’t take a single moment for granted. Martin went on to fall in love and marry his wife and best friend, dedicate himself to his church’s Choir and Youth Ministry, his job in which he loves and took an active stance in pouring into his community. Martin and his wife have always been a source that continues to give and give and never asks for a single thing in return.
YET ANOTHER HURDLE…
In 2018, Martin was admitted to the hospital for an infection. Following an oversight associated with his care, damage was caused to his kidney. With Martin’s kidneys no longer able to adequately do their job, at the age of 32 Martin was right back where he started, experiencing kidney failure. In March 2019, he started Peritoneal Dialysis, which eventually caused fluid buildup around his lungs and heart and led him to be in a coma. Whereas countless doctors made their rounds and repeatedly told his wife to prepare for the worst, she and his family continued to pray and sat by his bedside everyday awaiting another miracle. Martin was on life support from November 2, 2019 – November 20, 2019. Being the fighter that he is, Marin was able to pull through despite the high odds.
WHY START A GO FUND ME???
Martin and his wife are in need of help paying for his Kidney Transplant. The reason I started this GO FUND ME is to help support Martin and his wife to cover necessary expenses surrounding Martin’s kidney transplant such as his, medications, hospital bills, the required temporary relocation of he and his wife near the transplant center which is more than 70 miles from their home for a minimum of 30 day following the transplant, follow-up appointments, as well as to assist in maintaining their normal bills.
If you are unable to donate money, there are other amazing ways to support this family. Please keep this family lifted in prayer and consider helping me by promoting this fundraising initiative and sharing on your social media as well as with your family and friends. Any contribution helps
