Help Martin keep fighting Colon Cancer Stage 4
Donation protected
Hello family and friends. I hope all of you are well and trying to stay safe during these very difficult times. I once again need help in spreading Martin’s go fund me campaign again please. When Martin got hospitalized for a week before xmas it was due to a partial bowel obstruction. Due to the fact that one of his numerous tumors is partially blocking his colon. So needless to say he got very very very sick and was in the hospital for a week with an NG tube and kept NPO. Luckily the NG tube worked and they did not have to do an ileostomy at this time. We are very very thankful for that. Unfortunately though, his liver numbers (bloodwork) are bad. His. Bilirubin is very very very high and it is causing him fatigue, he lost alot of weight, etc etc. They ran more tests and no mets to the liver so that is great news but numbers are still not good. Unfortunately he remains inoperable. So this means current treatment isn’t working. Unfortunately new treatment is expensive. We have to pay out of pocket 882.00 for first treatment and then weekly 505.00 for weekly treatments. Before treatments were every 3 weeks so it was more manageable financially now we just recieved the call a few mins ago and this threw me for a loop. They (doctors office and staff) helping us to apply with a foundation to see if we can get financial help with this. But the turnaround time for paperwork is 2 to 3 weeks. We asked oncologist what he thought of us waiting for a response or?......... any options. Oncologist said due to Martin’s numbers being so bad he recommends new treatment ASAP as in this coming week. So it leaves us holding our breaths for a lack of a better word. The expense is not only in the infusions but is also in the new oral medication and that adds an even higher expense. I just wanted to know if you could share to anyone you think that might be able to help us get through this hump. Anything helps. I KNOW times are TOUGH for ALL and it is the worst time to ask but I have to try. My mom always told me “pena is robar, y no en preguntar”. (Shame is in stealing, not in asking). So I have to try. Thank you all in advance for your continued prayers, messages, texts, support, etc. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thank you, God Bless.
