Hello friends and family. As many of you know, for years now, Ive been trying to navigate through an old dance exercise injury. When I first began my career in dance exercise, way back in 1978. We were doing high impact aerobics on carpeted concrete. Being the example for my students to follow. Having so much fun. Making lifelong friends.
If my 59 year old self had the opportunity to give words of wisdom and experience to my 16 year old self, I would say " be minful of jumping on concrete" "pace yourself as you progress through a long fulfilling career" "take some time recharge and heal"
So this is my reality today. I have been home for months, unable to work at the job Ive have loved for over 40 years. My right hip is no longer functional. A recent MRI revealed I have complete bone on bone articulation with no cartlidge present. This debilitating condition has left me living with unimaginable pain.
I have scheduled a total hip replacement surgery for end of the month. My surgeon tells me I am a good candidate for this surgery and that I should make a complete and total recovery.
Having been unable to work since January of this year and no income coming in and with my monthly bills and medical expenses piling up, I am asking my friends and family and former students for help to get through this life event and return to a career that I love so much.
If you are able to make a donation, I thank you for your love and kindness. I will get through this. God bless you.
With much love and appreciation
Martin
