Help Martie and Faith move somewhere safe!

For the last couple years, our friends and family have told us that we need to move. Our rental has had problems from day one: flies, rats, ants, and a three year long unresolved leak! Just recently, our biggest concern came to pass: we have toxic mold!
All three of us have been getting sicker each day and we have been wondering what's going on. Martie’s health has fallen apart. She can hardly get up our stairs and is now being diagnosed with a lung disease. The reality of the housing market in Victoria and our current financial situation, however, has made it impossible for us to move. We’ve been stuck, but we can’t stay here any longer. We need to take a leap of faith and face a move we can’t afford.
Prairie is moving in with friends but Martie and Faith have spent the last while trying to find a place for them within their budget. They desperately wanted to stay in Victoria as we have such wonderful friends here. They've done everything possible to try and find a new home here but they’ve come to the realization that every door is closing before them. They slowly opened their hearts up to moving back to the mainland where it is more affordable and felt a call to the place we previously called home: Salmon Arm.
Salmon Arm has always held a spot in each of our hearts so it only makes sense that if we had to move off the island, it would be to a place we still sincerely love. Miracously, a door opened up there and we found a home in our budget.
We all know that sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. Well, that’s this part. We need to pack, pack, pack, and move across province for May 1st! There’s a lot of moving expenses, especially for a family that is struggling with their health. Our beloved friends are helping us with the truck which is a huge weight off (is that a pun?) but a sudden move off island has a lot of extra expenses.
Let’s be real: It’s never fun to ask for money. None of us have some secret money tree in our backyard. As hard as it is for us to reach out, we are very aware we can’t do this on our own. Without help, we cannot escape the very place making us sick. This is a very tough situation. Our family is dividing when we are in the heart of health crises, but we know we need to go where we can recover both physically and financially.
Anything you can contribute, we are beyond grateful for. Every dollar is a blessing to us that will help us not just now, but every day after as we can finally be in a clean and healthy home.
