Help Martico (CoCo) Beat Cancer

Around October of 2017, Martico received some life-altering news. After going to her primary care physician, for a routine check up. It turned into, an ultrasound and a rush biopsy later. After her tests came back, Martico was told that she had Breast Cancer. As you can imagine, this is not what a 39 year-old otherwise healthy individual was expecting to hear. The good news is that Martico has not given up, and is going to keep pushing. Martico has such a positive attitude and is ready to put up a fight in order to get back to being a healthy and happy mom. The bad news is that before Martico can beat cancer, she will have to financially bare the many costs associated with the treatments, including anti-nausea medications, travel and parking for hospital appointments.Currently, Martico is trying to maintain her full-time job while attending chemotherapy treatments, many other appointments, raising 3 children and balancing other life commitments. Martico has been told that cancer patients typically undergoing this type of chemotherapy do not work while doing so. However, Martico doesn’t have enough sick, personal, or vacation time left to continue being off. Martico has completed her fourth session of chemotherapy and is really feeling the ill-effects . On February 21, 2018 Martico will undergo a double Mastectomy, and could off of work for 8-10 wks, with approximately 1 1/2 weeks of paid leave left. (Corrected from 2 1/2 weeks) Although it is difficult for Martico to reach out to her loved ones and to ask for help, we know that she would be the first person there if any of her friends or family were going through something similar.
