On December 23, our small community of Gooding, Idaho was shaken by an unimaginable tragedy. Martha Lopez, a loving single mother of three beautiful children — ages 6, 4, and just 8 months old — lost her life when another driver crossed the center line and struck her vehicle head-on. Martha died at the scene, leaving behind the three little ones who were her entire world.
Martha was a devoted mom who worked tirelessly to provide for her children and surround them with love. Her strength, kindness, and dedication to her family touched everyone who knew her. Her sudden passing has left a heartbreaking void in the lives of her children and all who loved her.
Living with Martha at the time was her 20-year-old sister, who has now stepped into the role of full-time guardian and sole provider for these three young children. Though she was already part of their daily lives, nothing could prepare her for the loss of her sister and the sudden responsibility of raising a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, and an 8-month-old baby on her own.
They live in a small community where resources are limited. At just 20years old, she is now carrying the weight of providing for this family while grieving and trying to create stability for the children Martha left behind.
We are raising $8,000 to help cover Martha’s funeral and memorial expenses and to support the children’s immediate needs, including diapers, clothing, food, housing, childcare, and other basic necessities as their aunt works to keep their family together and honor Martha’s memory.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for these children and their family. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support for Martha’s children during this incredibly difficult time
