Help Martha Sammons after home fire

Donation protected
On the evening of February 2, 2022, Martha Mock Sammons came home with her grandson to find a fire beginning in her bedroom. They quickly exited and called 911. Morgan County firefighters were able to extinguish the electrical fire around 8:00 PM, and although a tragic event, most of the house had been saved and all were safe. Although shaken, they were very grateful and Martha went to her daughter’s house where they created a plan to restore the lost bedroom area and contents, only to be surprised with a call around 3:00 AM saying the fire had reignited and the house was now a total loss.

Martha has touched so many lives as a teacher at both Piedmont Academy and Gatewood Schools. Life has tested her many times, but throughout these tests, Martha has always come out with her head held high and a strong faith in God. During this latest tragic event, many have reached out to the family wanting to help as Martha rebuilds and replaces after losing everything. Luckily insurance will help with a lot of this, but many things can never be replaced.

The purpose of this GoFundMe page is to provide some help with immediate and short-term needs while Martha finds a place to call home. As most of you that know Martha know, she is not the best at receiving or asking for help, but prefers to give help to others. Please only give if you find yourself able.
