My name is Martha, and I am about to begin my studies at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles on August 18. I am proud to be the first in my family to go to college and the first to pursue a legal degree. I am a special immigrant juvenile and a DACA recipient, I came to the US when I was 5 years old, about 1 year after this picture was taken. My journey to law school began with my own immigration experience, where I was fortunate to receive help from a pro bono attorney. Although I am still dealing with the immigration legal system, my personal immigration experience inspired me to pursue a legal career so I can give back to others facing similar challenges.
I am passionate about Public Interest law and want to use my education to advocate for my community and for people who often have limited access to legal representation. While I am open to learning about different areas of law, my main goal is to help those with complex problems who need a strong advocate on their side. I am attending law school at night while working full time to cover my personal expenses, but I am unable to meet the full cost of tuition on my own.
With tuition payments due at the end of August, I am reaching out for support to help cover the remaining amount I cannot pay myself. Your contribution will allow me to focus on my studies, participate in internships and clinics, and ultimately serve my community as a dedicated legal advocate. Thank you for believing in my journey and helping me take the next step toward making a difference.
