Help Martha German Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
On Monday morning, tragedy struck beloved community member Martha German, affectionately known as the “Mother of Dillon High School Football,” when a fire destroyed her family home.
After leaving early for work with her grandson, Martha received a heartbreaking call: her house was engulfed in flames. Rushing back, she arrived to see firefighters from Dillon County Fire Station One, Station Five, and the Clio Rural Fire Department battling the blaze. Despite their best efforts, nearly everything was lost.
Known for her strength, faith, and dedication to her community, Martha was seen praying for the firefighters even as her home smoldered. Friends and family gathered with her later that day, sifting through the remains, trying to recover anything they could.
While the physical losses are immense, it’s the loss of cherished memories—family photos, keepsakes, and the history within those walls—that hits hardest. Still, Martha remains faithful: “All we can do is trust in God,” she says.
Now, we’re asking for your help to support Martha as she begins the long journey of rebuilding her life. Any donation—big or small—will go a long way in helping her recover and find stability.
