My name is Martha, and I’m reaching out for help for myself and my husband, Cowboy. Four years ago, Cowboy was diagnosed with colon cancer. He continued working as long as he could, but last August, his company, Yates Construction, encouraged him to go on disability. Since then, our lives have changed in ways we never expected.
With Cowboy now on disability, we’ve lost a significant portion of our income—the part that helped us pay for our house, car, 4-wheeler, and credit cards. While disability covers our regular bills, the extra money we relied on is gone. Like many couples, we never expected to face such a storm, and our rainy day fund has run out. I’ve started working to help cover the gap, but we’ve already missed payments for January and February, and it’s been hard to catch up.
The funds from this fundraiser will help us cover those missed payments and get us back on track for March. With my new job, we’ll be able to keep up with our bills moving forward. Cowboy has always been someone who helps others in need, but he’s never been one to ask for help himself. Thank you so much for your support—it truly means the world to us.
