Marta is a mother of three boys who has always inspired me with her determination and kindness. We met through our apprenticeship program’s night school, and from the very first night, I saw how hard she worked—balancing 10-12 hour days, raising her kids, and driving to school at night twice a week during the school year. Shes currently a 5th year apprentice & is working towards getting her journeyman license in July of 2026. She’s the kind of person who lights up a room with her smile and is always there for others, no matter what.
On Tuesday December 9th On her way home from school (3 hour commute each way), Marta’s car went off the road and rolled over several times. She is lucky she made it out alive with 7 fractured ribs & some other non life threatening injuries. This happened right before the holidays, leaving her unable to work (after already being out of work for months in the union waiting on the next big job), unable to get to school, or provide for her boys. It’s a devastating setback for someone who has worked so hard for everything she has. She is newly engaged with her fiancé Chris who has done everything he can to support Marta & her boys but now after this accident the entire family will need help.
These funds will help Marta towards a new car so she can return to work/finish her apprenticeship, cover her medical expenses, and support her family while she recovers. Most importantly, we want to make sure her boys still have a Christmas to remember, especiallyin their new home, even in the face of these challenges.
Marta has always been the first to help others, and now she needs our help. We’re so sorry to ask, but with the holidays right around the corner, she’s really in a tight spot. Anything you can give will make a difference, and we can’t thank you enough for your support!
