Hello, my name is Josie Veloz, and today I am reaching out to you with my heart in my hands. My mother, Marta Medina—whom we all affectionately know as Gleny—is 75 years old and lives in the Dominican Republic. She recently received a diagnosis of breast cancer, and doctors have advised that she must undergo surgery on both breasts in order to continue fighting for her life. Although she has health insurance, there are many expenses that are not covered: deductibles, medications, diagnostic tests, transportation, and everything involved in her recovery following the operation.
At this moment, my own situation is difficult. I have been unable to work for over two years due to health issues, and my husband has been by my side caring for me; consequently, he is not currently working either. Even so, we want to do everything in our power to help my mother through this process. That is why I am turning to you today. Any contribution—no matter how small—can make a huge difference for us. And if you are unable to donate, I would be deeply grateful if you could share this campaign so that it reaches more people.
My mother is a strong, loving woman, full of faith. We want to give her the opportunity to receive the treatment she needs and to stand by her side through this journey with dignity and hope.

Hola, mi nombre es JOSIE VELOZ y hoy me atrevo a escribir esto con el corazón en la mano.
Mi mamá, Marta Medina, a quien todos conocemos con cariño como Gleny, tiene 75 años y vive en República Dominicana. Hace poco recibió un diagnóstico de cáncer de mama, y los médicos han indicado que debe someterse a una cirugía de ambas mamas para poder continuar luchando por su vida.
Aunque cuenta con seguro médico, hay muchos gastos que no están cubiertos: deducibles, medicamentos, estudios, transporte, y todo lo que implica su recuperación después de la operación.
En este momento, mi situación es difícil. Llevo más de dos años sin trabajar por temas de salud, y mi esposo ha estado a mi lado cuidándome, por lo que tampoco está trabajando actualmente. Aun así, queremos hacer todo lo posible para ayudar a mi mamá en este proceso.
Por eso hoy recurro a ustedes. Cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, puede marcar una gran diferencia para nosotros. Y si no puedes donar, te agradezco muchísimo si puedes compartir esta campaña para que llegue a más personas.
Mi mamá es una mujer fuerte, amorosa, y llena de fe. Queremos darle la oportunidad de recibir el tratamiento que necesita y acompañarla en este proceso con dignidad y esperanza.
