Update 8/11/2025: Marshall saw the vet today and we learned more about him and his situation. He is estimated to be between 6-8 years old. He currently has an ear infection that is being treated with antibiotics, and a possible ruptured ear drum. He also has swollen lymph nodes. He will need a dental that may cost upwards $1,000 due to rotting teeth and necessary extractions but he needs his infection to be cleared. He is also FIV+. Marshall also had a lot of tar on his fur so he's being cleaned properly. More updates but his most recent bill is now posted. Please consider donating! Hi everyone! My name is Marshall (some people call me Garfield). I lived behind the Marshall's store in the Brimfield plaza (hence, my name) for a couple of years. Everyone has been so nice to me too! I had food daily and plastic/wood shelters built for me to sleep in at night. I was even trapped and released twice.

However, things have been difficult recently and I might have a tooth infection. I've been eating on one side and drooling to cope with the pain. I have a small cut on my ear, and it was bleeding. My eye is also dilated on one side, and I can't see that well. One of the friendly patrons who feeds me found someone who was willing to take me home to be somewhere safe while I wait for my vet appointment. I'm likely going to need dental work, possibly teeth extraction, an eye exam, and some more immunizations. Dentals in the area cost between $600-$800, and this does not include the cost of my eye treatment or other necessary treatments and medications depending on the outcome of my visit.

The person who picked me up is not in the financial position to cover all my bills that I may incur, so I'm hoping some of you can help me (and her!). As we figure out what is going on, we are going to update this page so we can be transparent about the costs, and I would greatly appreciate any support you can give to me so I can live a longer cat life ❤️ Stay tuned and follow my story.
