HELP MARSHALL RECOVER!

On June 19, 2020 Marshall Buersken my son was found unconscious, bleeding, partially paralyzed and with a broken neck in a small alley in Prescott Wisconsin. He was rushed by ambulance to Regions Trauma center. While they were doing the CT scan, they found he had major internal bleeding around his spinal cord which was causing even further paralysis as they were scanning. They rushed him into Emergency Surgery.  His vertebrae were repaired with screws and the bleeding was stopped.  Thankfully his spinal cord through badly bruised was not severed. The doctors though cautious were hopeful.  Marshall woke in the ICU to find himself completely paralyzed on his right side ,minimal use of his left side and a broken left knee cap which required another surgery. Since we were in the middle of the quarentine lockdown Marshall would have to do the first part of his hospitalization and recovery alone. The doctors feel with a year of hard work, continuous physical therapy, and healing of his spinal cord he could regain 90% of what he had now lost. Marshall with his “I’m fine” attitude went right to work.  He spent the next 6 weeks in the hospital getting strong enough to go home. To date although he is slowly regaining some strength and movement, he is still wheelchair bound and has a long way to go.               

Just when we all started to breathe again Marshall’s banked hours for his great union insurance came to an end.  Thankfully he has the option of picking up Cobra coverage. Unfortunately, Cobra coverage comes with a steep price tag.  With extremely reduced income and high premiums we realized without help Marshall would not have what he needs to heal.

We are asking for your help in paying those premiums, uncovered medical expenses, and other financial struggles Marshall and Krystal may incur over the next 10 to 12 months. Any amount helps.
