Help Marshall Rebuild After Car Accident

Hello, my name is Jerald Marshall Holt, but everyone calls me Marshall. I turned 25 years old on the 13th of April and was just in my first car accident seven days later on Easter Sunday, April 20th.

I’m so lucky that I’m okay, but my car is totaled.

I was caught in heavy rain, and a semi was making it impossible to see with the water it was kicking up. I tried to pull to the left lane to improve my visibility because my wipers couldn’t keep up, but I hydroplaned into the median and hit the guardrail.

It’s been crushing, and I’m now relying on rides from friends and family to get to work. I make okay money at my job, but I was using DoorDash to supplement my income by making some money on there.

I would give little pieces of fun-size candy to every person I’d deliver to. I’d even message them and have them pick what they’d like. I met a lot of nice people working out there, including my new friend Krushna. He’s reminded me to stay strong and thankful in these hard times.

So I’ve been spending more time with my friends now that I’m no longer working day and night, and it’s been wonderful. I even made $20 at the casino because I was more open to the idea of doing something other than my side job.

I miss being able to DoorDash though, now more than ever because I need money. I still owe $5,000 on my car, and I’ll be lucky if I don’t still owe on it after the insurance claim.

I’m normally not the kind of person to ask for help, especially for something financial. I try to help others though because it makes me happy; sometimes I even help more than I should. I’m posting this in hopes I find people like me, willing to help out a stranger, because they’re able.
