Hello everyone! My name is Teresa Deckard and I am starting this GoFundMe for my brother in law Marshall Baccus. He is currently in UAB hospital 1st on the heart transplant list. As of today it's been 3 days he had an Impella Pump put in. This is temporary and only there for 14 days waiting for a heart. If he doesn't get one within 14 days from the Imella he will need surgery again to remove it and will put an L Vad pump in and continue waiting for a heart and having to stay close to the hospital in case a heart becomes available for the transplant.

He has been going through heart issues for a very long time now. Despite everything he has been through, Marshall has always been the type of person who gives more than he ever asks for. If someone needed help, he was the first one there. If someone was struggling, he was the first to step in — no hesitation, no questions, no judgment.

He has worked at Dominos in Leeds for most of his life managing. When he opened the Domino’s in Moody AL. He became a familiar, friendly face to everyone. Kids loved him — he would always stop what he was doing, kneel down to their level, and let them toss pizza dough just to make them smile. He turned a simple pizza shop into a place where people felt welcome, seen, and cared about. That’s just who he is. He has some videos on his Facebook page reels of children getting to toss the pizza dough and having a blast. Now he is the one who needs help.

The medical bills, travel, medications, recovery costs, and time away from work have become overwhelming. The road to a heart transplant is long and incredibly expensive, and Marshall cannot walk this road alone, but he and his wife (my sister), family, church family and friends are trusting and believing that God will provide.

We are asking for any support — whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this page. Every little bit brings him closer to the transplant and recovery he desperately needs.

Marshall has touched so many lives with his kindness.
