Hi everyone, we are the Nance family.

I am currently serving in the military, and like many families, we work hard to balance our service and our home life. Recently, we’ve been hit with a series of unfortunate events that have left us in a difficult financial position, and we are humbly asking for your help to get back on our feet.

​The Situation

Our primary vehicle—which we still owe $20,000 on—suffered a catastrophic engine failure. After getting multiple estimates, the cost to fix it is between $12,300 and $13,500. Because we live in a high-cost-of-living area and rely on a single military income (my wife is only able to work part-time due to a chronic back injury), this expense is simply out of reach.

Just days before the car broke down our beloved Corgi Harold required emergency medical services, which exhausted our immediate savings.

​We were hit with an unexpected $2,000 tax bill due to an error.

We aren't just looking for a handout; we’ve been working hard to find solutions. We secured a $1,000 grant from a military relief organization, which allows us to ship the car back home to where labor is cheaper and we have family there. This has dropped our needed repair cost significantly, but we are still facing a gap of $5,000–$7,000 to make the car drivable again.
