Marnie is a life loving, doting mother of two little boys who has dedicated her life to caring for others through her nursing career and now her work in the mental health and disability sector.

Towards the end of September, on a day like any other, Marnie reported to her colleagues that she was feeling unwell and moments later suffered a very serious and life threatening stroke which resulted in her immediate medical transfer from Echuca to Melbourne for urgent specialist care. Marnie was placed in an induced coma and has undergone surgery to reduce the bleeding and swelling within her brain, with more surgeries still to come.

We are so thankful that Marnie has woken from the coma almost two weeks after the stroke occurred but her recovery journey is only just beginning.

We are calling out to everyone to assist us in helping Marnie with her recovery and helping her family with travel and accommodation costs to be able to see their loved one: their mum, wife, daughter and sister.

Further, with a current loss of wage for this young family, any help is going to be appreciated.

After extensive years of care that Marnie has provided to our communities, it’s now our time to care for her.

Marnie’s colleagues at Thrive Wellness and Consulting will also be doing a “one million meters for Marnie” campaign where they will walk, ride, run and swim one million meters to help raise awareness of this go fund me page and help raise supports for Marnie and her family.
