In January our little family lost Georgie. When the time came to bring a new pup into the mix, we found Marlow. Dropped off at the shelter in San Bernardino with a hurt paw on Tuesday March 10th, we had until that Saturday at 2PM to pick him up before he was put down. We were not going to let that happen.
Driving from the Bay Area down to Southern California, we raced against time reaching out to friends and acquaintances until our incredible friend Alexandra Reid was able to get us put on as volunteers for an animal rescue out of Baja. When we got to the shelter and he was brought out to us, matted fur and hurt leg and sporting a serious tick infestation, we knew. This was our little guy. This was our Marlow. That spark came fast, we fell in love, and he’s our handsome boy.
We have no idea what he went through out there as a roughly one year old pup, but it didn't break his sweet spirit and amazing nature. After getting cleaned up by the miracle workers at the Alpine Vet Hospital in Concord, CA we got news.
His leg was broken. Not sprained. Broken.
That was the Monday after we got him that we found out. Our little buddy needed a pin and a plate. They said we had about a week to get him in for surgery before amputation could be looked at as a solid possibility. So we vowed that matter what it takes, our sweet Marlow is not losing that leg.
His first surgery was Saturday the 21st with a follow-up surgery on the 24th to adjust the pin in his arm. Both went insanely well and he has nothing but an amazing outlook and life ahead of him!
We’re asking for help covering the cost of Marlow’s surgery, his recovery, and anything else that may come up in getting him the care he deserves. We will be updating everyone on our sweet handsome boy and his recovery progress as much as we can. Thank you ahead of time to everyone who donates and shares this, my gratitude at your kindness knows no bounds and we can’t wait for Marlow to live up his amazing life!
