My beautiful niece turned one in December of 2020.   She appeared to be the picture of health and happiness.  Unfortunately that picture was abruptly shattered last week when Marlo began to exhibit symptoms of what would end up being diagnosed as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a disorder of the electrical system of the heart.  While in many cases this syndrome can be easily treated with medications, Marlo isn’t a typical case.  She hasn’t been responding favorably to medications or attempted procedures.   Despite the heroic efforts of her medical team, Marlo continues to have episodes of Ventricular tachycardia reaching to 300’s and requiring Cardio version.  Most recently she experienced a decrease in heart function and received CPR and was almost placed on ECMO.   She has been intubated and in a medically induced coma for the greater part of the past week.  For Baby Marlo, the road ahead is full of uncertainty.  Her parents, Jen Shere and Jason (Stan) Poffenberger, and family continue to remain hopeful.  We ask for your prayers, positive energy and well wishes.  They long to hold Marlo in their arms again and return home with their beautiful, healthy, sassy little girl.  Please consider donating funds to assist in incurring medical expenses for Marlo’s care.  No amount is too small.  Thank you for your time and consideration.  God Bless!
